Wondrium Pilots: The Pirate Wars of 1718

We have to be honest: The true buccaneers, bandits, and brigands who looted, burned, warred, killed, and caused mayhem are way more interesting than what we've seen on the big screen.
Wondrium Pilots: The Pirate Wars of 1718 is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 13.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fascinating Look at the Age of Piracy The professor brought to life a story most of us only know through cinema, and placed it in historical context. It was briskly told, and showed a real fascination with the subject matter. I would very much like to see a continuation of this series, tracing the history of piracy alongside world events, and giving us an inside look at life as a priate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good pilot! I'd say I enjoyed this pilot. However, I am not that familiar with the story. Perhaps professor could start with more basic lecure on piracy, carebean naval world at the time, etc to ease in to this. Let's see what Wondrium will do with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast moving, holds your interest. I enjoyed this lecture due to the lecturer's clear interest in his topic and the fast pace of the narrative. Would love to see additional lectures in this series...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting topic Interesting topic and i would like to see the full series. Lecturer seems to be fascinated and sympathetic to the cause of piracy. Despite bias i would love to see more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lecturer, can't wait for more I enjoyed how the lecturer connected piracy to a broader context and highlighted an (undeservedly) obscure story about a pirate few have heard of. I'm looking forward to learning more about the relationship between class, economics, and piracy in future lectures.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good introduction The topic is definitely interesting. I would like the lecturer to be more excited about what he is teaching. He knows his stuff for sure, but he would benefit from showing more confidence about it (this is coming from someone with a background in theatre). I'm not sure if this is common to all pilot episodes, but I noticed it in the only other video I've watched so far, which was also a pilot episode: needs more visuals.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting Topic - Needs More Pirates are an exciting topic in general, but I would love for this course to be expanded to larger pirate history from the ancient world through to today
