Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Basic Review and Guide to Health This was a very basic survey of some key areas related to health and Happiness. It was a good mix of medical information and doctor guidance for developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I found it very superficial in many areas such as body size and health, and would liked to have more discussion concerning whether the body has a fixed weight set point it fights to maintain, and does its phenotype/genotype counter an individuals effort to be a healthy size. Will we eventually be our parents size? Also, hoped for more in-depth discussion on the microbiome. Dr. Miller did touch on the area but not with latest rich research findings. The discussion about various diets was a good review for a survey course. The biggest negative for the course, again as has been the practice in many of the most recent courses was the lecturer just reading slides with a 3-4 second gap between statements. It is easy to lose focus on course elements when the lecturer is reading statement after statement then forces a smile to fill the gap, waiting for next slide. I did enjoy the course at the basic level presented and Dr. Miller is extremely knowledgeable relative to the topics.
