Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great historical information Having a Viking ancestry I have always had an interest in Norman history. Having said that, I had no idea of the extent of Norman influence and cultural spread. Very interesting presentation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate and Interesting Having focused on Medival history for the last year, I found this 3 part series to be consistant with previous readings and courses, and very appealing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Delightful Historical Journey of Information I viewed this on Wondrium and was hooked. I binge-watched all three episodes. It was both informative and fascinating. It's interesting to see the far-reaching influences of the Norman peoples. Perhaps the producers of this mini-lecture would consider doing similar for the other less known cultures such as the Goths and Visigoths or Scythians.

The Invaders

01: The Invaders

1066: The most familiar date in medieval English history. The Battle of Hastings was one of blood and brutality. The Normans, who raided all through Europe, invaded England and brought with them many changes.

The Kingdom in the Sun

02: The Kingdom in the Sun

Pious adventurers, the Normans were descendant of the Pagan people of the distant north. Their great conquest at Hastings is familiar enough, but few know of their other great conquests far to the south.

Loss of Identity

03: Loss of Identity

Myth had always been a potent force in a nation's history. History is bent and shaped to comply with the needs of the nation, but truth and history rarely rhyme. Nations, after all, are made by men, but they are also destroyed by them.
