Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for someone who has never heard this before I've been a participant in other medical sponsored wellness curricula, and this is just a repeat of all the common-sense information about weight management. It says that the two biggest challenges for people concerned about their weight is that they "eat while watching TV" and they "consume too much sugar." Well, I don't own a TV set and I never drink soda, so I had some difficulty relating to the material. But this course might be helpful to people who haven't heard these recommendations before.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Great Courses best. I've taken dozens of Great Courses Plus courses and this is my least favourite of any. The presenter clearly read a script and the camera panning was very distracting. The information presented can be found for free on the internet. How does a nutrition expert fail to be able to pronounce a simple word like "vegan". In the kitchen scenes the camera panned back and forth as if it were on a robotic arm set to do that and it was distracting. The mail presenter should have read less from the script and the kitchen instructor should have read more from a script. I was very disappointed in this course. I've studied nutrition for decades and learned nothing new from this. I even watched it again later thinking that I should give it a chance but was yet again not impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Motivator This was a good course to get someone started on healthy eating. If you already know how to cook and are generally healthy, it can seem a bit simple. But, even so, it is a good method for getting back on or keeping on track.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT I am a physician and I have recommended the course to my patients at the sale price. I have just started telling them about it. I will have to wait three months for feedback. I love the course.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mayo Clinic Diet course As with all other courses I have purchased from The Great Courses, this one was very professionally done with interviews, photos and production. I was somewhat disappointed that it would have further benefitted by purchasing the book and journal separately and did not note that in the catalog. Based on the information given in the lectures, it still appears to be a good healthy living program.
