Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful short course! Although the course booklet was too brief in details, the course itself was short and delightful, with an interesting lecturer. Despite my being unable to taste even half of the recommended wines, the comments made by the lecturer were more than adequate to be educational. When I am able to visit California wine-growing regions again, I will rewatch this course to be better prepared. Especially enjoyed the lecture on special red wines, such as my favorite, Zinfandel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable, mixed opinion I have mixed emotions about this series. First Jennifer Simonetti-Bryan is a very engaging teacher, and very knowledgeable in her field. I, without a doubt, did learn a lot about California wines from this series. My reservation is that she is presenting the class like you are there in person to see, sniff, swirl, sip and savory the wines. She does give you a list of wines to buy for each class. If you are a person watching the series solo, this is pretty much prohibitive. If for no other reason than I would need to go several weeks between classes to finish off the 5 or 6 bottles that I opened for each glass. She did suggest that you make an event of this and have several folks watch the video together, each bringing a bottle of wine. That is probably the way to go. She also said you did not need to get the wine to get something from the course… and I did. On the whole though it was worth my time to watch this series.
