01: Tokyo and Beyond
In the first episode of the whistle-stop aerial journey across Japan, we visit Tokyo, the largest city in the world. Next we see the cities of Shimoda, Nagasaki, and the old castle town of Kanazawa. After that, we learn more about Japan’s unique geography with visits to the Oki Islands and Toyako.
02: Islands of Japan
The second leg of the aerial journey starts with the Yaeyama Islands, the most southwestern and geographically remote point of Japan. We follow the chain of the Ryukyu Islands towards Okinawa before exploring the history of Hiroshima. Next, we visit the distinct Kansai region, home to the major cities of Osaka and Kobe. Finally we cross the Tsugaru straights to Hokkaido island.
