Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great short bio of Jack London Jack London is one of my favorite American authors. He has been so since I discovered his "dog" books as an adolescents. As an adult I have read many of his other works and short stories, and I have enjoyed those immensely. Jack had a short, but packed life. After reading "John Barleycorn or Alcoholic Memoirs" I was left with impression that he drank himself to death. The last several years of his short life Jack had many problems, he spent beyond his income, his alcohol abuse was catching up with him, and other health problems. Like many of us most of his problems were self-induced, but it still is very sad. This short film focused more on his money problems than on his alcoholism. It focused also on his second wife Charmain, who seemed charming and the perfect companion for Jack. Thinking of Jack London brings up my enjoyment in his writing and sadness when I think how his life was so short. I enjoyed the documentary and learned several new things I did not know about this man who was the most popular American author of his time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very professional documentary Although quite short, this documentary does a great job at explaining how and why Jack London wrote what he wrote. I enjoyed the different points of view from all the professors and London's descendants, and especially the original photographs and clips. I highly recommend this to appreciate London's work even more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great History! Great Photos and Videos! This biography showcases the times very well. There were many photos and videos of the time period even though the time period was more than 100 years ago.
