Deep Relaxation with Tracee Stanley is a 5-day course that teaches you how to fully surrender into relaxation through the practice of yoga nidra.
Tracee Stanley has been a student of yoga since 1995 and currently shares teachings that are sourced from over 18 years of study in the tradition of the Himalayan Masters, Sri Vidya and Tantra. Since 2004, Tracee’s focus has been on meditation, self-empowerment and self-inquiry, sankalpa (intention) and yoga nidra. Founder of Sankalpa Shakti Yoga School and co-founder of Empowered Wisdom Yoga NIdra School Tracee teaches internationally and taught yoga and meditation on the most recent Girls Getaway with Oprah and Gayle in the Bahamas. Tracee’s first book is being published by Shambhala Publishing in March of 2021.
01: Welcome: Preparing Your Space + Yoga Nidra Positions
Comfort is queen, so build a yoga nidra nest for yourself with blankets, bolsters, and pillows from around your house. Creating a comfortable space in which you feel completely safe will allow your body to surrender into the practice. One recommendation: hold off on your essential oils and tinctures. The practice can take you very deep, so explore how deep you can go on your own. Continue on to Day 1 to experience the first yoga nidra session in this course.
02: Body: Grounding Deep Relaxation Practice
This class focuses on becoming aware of all parts of the physical body and inviting them to relax. Known as “systematic relaxation,” this practice allows you to create a new relationship with your physical body and deepen your ability to move into “rest and digest.”
03: Energy: Energetic Awareness Relaxation Practice
This Deep Relaxation session revolves around cultivating sensitivity towards the energetic body, with the aim of cleansing and rejuvenation.
04: Mind: Peaceful Mind Relaxation Practice
In this session, Tracee teaches us to witness our impressions as an observer without attachment, judgment, or analysis, and to relax the mind.
05: Intuition: Deep Knowing Relaxation Practice
Move beyond the mind and connect with a deeper part of yourself. Experiment and let go and explore your true nature to create a new way of being in the world.
06: Bliss: Divine Connection Practice
The divine resides inside of you as light—an eternal force of truth, knowledge, and action. Yoga Sutra 1:36 speaks of a light that exists in the heart space. This a light that is beyond all sorrow. It was there before you had a name and will be there when you no longer have a body. It is all knowing and unaffected by circumstances, conditions, or programming. This final practice builds upon the previous 4 creating a foundation of spaciousness and peace for you to deeply relax into. In this final practice we allow for more spaciousness, so give yourself ample time for the 30-minute practice and at least 5 minutes of journaling afterward. Make sure that you don't have to rush off anywhere right after so that you can enjoy the feeling of peace and integration throughout your body. Finally, reflect on the question: Who am I? Note, if you have one or two favorite practice from the five that Tracee has led over this last week, try committing to practicing them for a 40 day period. Sometimes it is not possible to do a practice every day, but try to do the practice as many times as you can in the next 40 days. You have already created some momentum; now is the time to keep going and give yourself a powerful reset.
