Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crochet: Basics and Beyond I like this DVD a lot because I can relate to the presenter. For a flat-out beginner, crochet is very challenging at first. I'm still in the "at first" stage and refer to it repeatedly. My fingers find the movements challenging, but the presenter leads us toward our goal. I'm confident I can learn this skill.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Basic Very Basic - no "beyond" My grandchild is just beginning to learn crochet, but this was too basic even for them. Hard to give a rating - might be very good for someone who has never touched a crochet needle before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Overview If you do not know how to crochet, I would recommend starting with The Startup Library course and then watch this one. This one is shorter (fewer lectures) and, in my opinion, harder to follow for a complete newbie. But, this one is good if you watch the Startup Library first or are trying to relearn to crochet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I learned to crochet when I was a child, from someone who was left handed (and I am right handed). Then I never crocheted again until now. It is so nice to work through the lessons and feel confident about each stitch, and the terminology. I hope that in the future, The Great Courses offers some additional lessons for Tunisian crochet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We loved it! I purchased this course to learn to crochet with my children. We made two granny squares and they came out beautifully. My 9-year old was able to easily follow Kim's instructions and we all enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor. We highly recommend this course. Thanks Kim!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful instructor! I’m so glad that I ordered this class. I’m an experienced knitter, but have never tried crochet. I knew I would need to start with the basics, so I took a chance on this course. I love it! I’ve taken lots of classes over the years, both in person and online. Kim is one of the best instructors I’ve ever had. She’s very cute and personable, thorough without being tedious, kind and gentle (“mistakes are normal!”), and clearly enjoys sharing her love of crochet. I ordered this course in duplicate: one for me and one for my daughter. We’re both going to learn a lot, and have fun doing it!
